Wizard of Oz Munckins receive Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Nearly 70 years since the release of The Wizard of Oz, starring Judy Garland, the munchkins finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony was held November 20th outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre where the film originally premiered. Of the 124 little people in the cast of munchkins, only 9 are still alive today. Representing those little people in attendance were Betty Ann Bruno, Mickey Carroll (town crier), Ruth Duccini, Joan Kenmore, Jerry Maren (Lollipop Guild), Margaret Pellegrini, Meinhardt Raabe, Karl Slover and Clarence Swensen. Judy Garland's son Joey Luft was also present to celebrate the occasion.
