Battlestar Galactica

Lucy Lawless returns to Battlestar Galactica, reprising her role as D'Anna for a minimum of 2 episodes of the show's fourth and final season.

HD DVD owners can look forward to Battlestar Galactica Season 1 arriving December 4th as a 6-disc set.


Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Close Encounters of the Third Kind with a new three-disc release in November containing the original 1977 theatrical cut, the 1980 special edition, and the 1990 director's cut. The Blu-Ray release will contain some additional goodies.


Doctor Who

Harry Lloyd will be the next actor to play Doctor Who when actor David Tennant leaves the series.

Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon will develop and executive produce 10 new online episode reviving and expanding the Farscape universe.

Adrian Paul will return as the immortal Duncan Mcleod in Sci-Fi Channel's Highlander: The Source movie September 15, 2007 at 9pm.


Heroes

Anticipation for Heroes season 2 heats up with new cast announcements including Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars), Janel Parrish (Bratz) and Star Trek's Lt. Uhura, Nichelle Nichols.

British actor Malcolm McDowell almost turned down his role in hit U.S. show Heroes until his son convinced him to take the part. The star plays a crime kingpin in the popular series - but admits he had never heard of the show before he was offered the role. He recalls, "I wasn't following the show when I got the offer but my son said, 'Dad, Heroes is one of the great shows on TV. Which rock have you been hiding under?'"


Justice League of America

Rumors claim the upcoming Justice League of America movie my be completed entirely using CGI similar to that in Beowulf.

Shrek

Dreamworks has scheduled release of Shrek 4: The Next Shrek for May 21, 2010 and previously announced plans to also produce Shrek 5


Smallville

Dean Cain, who played the Superman in ABC's Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, will play villainous killer Dr. Curtis Knox on Smallville in episode 4 of season 7.

Former Supergirl star Helen Slater will play Supergirl's (Laura Vandervoort) aunt, Laura, on Smallville in episode 6 of season 7.


Star Trek

In Star Trek XI movie news... Scottish actor James McAvoy will play Scotty. Zachary Quinto of Heroes notoriety will play young Spock with Leonard Nimoy appearing as the older Spock. Anton Yelchin will play Pavel Chekov. William Shatner is disappointed he will not be making an appearance.

CBS will be re-airing digitally remastered episodes of the original Star Trek starting September 15, 2007.


Star Wars

An authentic Star Wars stormtrooper helmet from the original 1977 film sold at auction for $20,000

The original prop of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from the first Star Wars movie will be sent into space aboard the space shuttle Discovery in October to commemorate the film franchise's 30th anniversary.
