Gary Gygax, co-creator of the fantasy role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons died March 4 at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He was 69 and had been suffering from health problems for several years.
After becoming interested in military strategy board games and miniatures, Gary partnered with Don Kaye to co-founded the company Tactical Studies Rules (TSR, Inc) in 1973. In 1974, they publish the first version of Dungeons & Dragons and 1977 he followed with the release of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
