Jaden Smith will play Jacob, the rebellious 8-year-old stepson of Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) in 20th Century Fox's updated version of the classic 1952 film The Day the Earth Stood Still. Jacob must be the updated version of Bobby, Helen Benson's son, in the original film, who befriends Klaatu and leads him to meet Professor Barnhardt. Klaatu will be played by Keanu Reeves. Coming to theaters Dec 12, 2008.
