Aliens vs. Predator Requiem
Aliens vs. Predator 2 has finally settled on a title. Requiem is a little more imaginative than 2 but still feels like it should be the next installment of Resident Evil. As a funeral prayer for the souls of the newly departed, the word requiem tells us to expect a high body count and the trailer backs this up.
In the war between alien races, this new trailer reveals a small town under attack. Although, rumors have it the majority of the film could still be set in outer space. The first teaser trailer was to be shown at San Diego ComicCon on July 27, 2007 but was prohibited by officials because of the R-rated content. Did any of these 'officials' ever see or hear of Aliens or Predator? This trailer treats us to all the gruesome gore you'd expect when Alien meets Predator meets a bunch of hicks in a small town. It's like lambs to the slaughter... if the lambs were people... and the slaughter was some sort of intergalactic war between races comprised of beings with acid for blood and having a penchant for skinning their victims. Aliens vs. Predator Requiem arrives in theaters December 25, 2007 from 20th Century Fox; directed by Colin Strause & Greg Strause; starring John Ortiz (Sheriff Morales), Steven Pasquale (Dallas), Johnny Lewis (Ricky), Reiko Aylesworth (Kelly O'Brien), David Paetkau (Dale), Chelah Horsdal (Darcy Benson). Batman: The Dark Knight
Batman Demolishes Building
The special effects guys working the latest installment in the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight made waves in Chicago August 29, 2007 -- shockwaves -- when they demolished an old factory in grand Hollywood style. The factory had been converted into Gotham Hospital for the scene which was captured by near by film crews as well as a hovering helicopter crew. Couldn't they have just done this with computer graphics? Maybe... but what would be the fun in that. Check out footage provided by WMAQ TV Chicago.
